Took the Flatstalker out again (and got a great workout). Got my feet wet at 10AM and was armed with a 6 inch rainbow trout swim bait. Fished till 2PM with nothing to show for. Water vis was not like it was a few weeks ago and water went down a couple feet from my last trip. Did manage to spot a couple of BIG carp...I think I'll bring some sweet corn and target carp for a change. I can only imagine how hard these fish would fight. Anyway, no fish pics so these will have to do :smt002

Okay Joel way to get out there. But something happened to your Yak? Did it sit in the sun and flatten out on you?

Mooch-

Looks like a great day out there. Did the wind kick up on you out there? It was pretty calm around my place... about 15 min away. It's all good...

Joel -

That thing would be perfect for a shore lunch on the water. Nice place to grill the man dogs and keep the minikeg cool. It would be like those swim up bars in Mexico.  :smt003

Fred, the wind would blow every now and then.....IMO: it wasn't that bad at all.

Yup, I'm most likely gonna get a trolling motor on this bad boy for those days when I feel lazy to paddle around :smt002....and in the mood to ram some of those kayak fishing guys  :smt077

Maybe ya should trade in the rods for a bow and go after the carp with that thing. Slowly poling along, that would be a great shooting platform. Not sure I'm sold on the lake fishing with it tho...

I once accidentally snagged one of those big SCR carp in the tail while throwing a Rat-L-Trap for bass. It pulled me in a tight circle for what must have been four minutes and when I got it to the surface its tail was at least as wide as my outspread hand and the whole fish was way too big to scoop up in the little net I had.

I was watching one of those fishing shows on TV last weekend and these guys from the midwest were hunting for carp with a bow and arrow, they would throw wadded up white bread out and the carp would come to the surface to eat it, then they would shoot the carp and the arrow had string attached(like a speargun) and proceed to reel them in with a built in reel on the bow and arrow. Looked like a lot of fun, except I don't know what you would do with as many carp as they speared in this episode! Your flatstalker looks perfect for this because your standing up which you need to be able to do to shoot em. Are carp good eating? How do you prepare/cook them to taste best? Just curious. Nice boat too never seen one like it....

That hung over bird is a Black-crowned night heron.  The king fisher is  much smaller in size, and they have "MoHawks" and deep black beaks.  Not sure about that flatstalker though.  I won't be giving up my OB for one of them anytime soon.
