Looks like we have a north and south crew in for the opener. Any competition for the two crews? Maybe largest fish? or smallest for the south crew? :smt044 Yeah that's right I said it  :smt070
   What about the Central crew?
..........Sincerly A-Hull Muggle.

Great Bass 2 keep me in mind for Limekiln. I haven't fished it yet. I have fished Big Sur with Brendan guided in the past and am ready for some quality fish. I am coming from Santa Cruz and would be in for a meet up in Monterey or possible camp out the night before at Lime Kiln. Keep me posted. Last time out it was an 18Lb Ling on a fly rod and limits of big reds 4-7Lbs!

No problem. I always post in hookups and will fish with anyone. Probably won't know till 5/6-5/7 if it is a go because of wind and swell. BTW, Limekiln can have a tricky shore break and I have gone for a swim more than a couple of times.  :smt005 Nothing to worry about but as the saying goes... rig to flip, dress to swim. See you out there.  :smt006

Can't wait for good weather for Big Sur. I heard that the ranger at Limekiln is not exactly friendly to Kayak fishers. Any truth to this?

There is a ranger who used to work there who hassled yak anglers from time to time, but I have not run into him. I think being a senior citizen, you get hassled less, unless you are Frank.  :smt005

That can be a problem when you are overly Frank. :smt006

Brain and I have  a problem. I was talking to Sean and it looks as if the area in N. Ca will be closed due to the system that is now in place will not be able to make a decision until after the 1st. So Brian and I will probably hit Miller Creek.

I'll be launching at MBK opening morning. I'll also be fishing Friday, just not sure where. Will post Thursday night. Never fished stillwater at PB. Hey Bulldog, maybe we can hookup! I'll be on ch69. Oh, and wearing a brand new yellow jacket :smt003  (thanks ark :smt023)

np Ben. Glad that it'll work out for you. You can always email me at [email protected] if you want to go fishing. Hopefully this'll be a good rockfish season for us.

Mill Creek and it will depend on wind and swell.

Frank:

Sorry I have been hiding out in Idaho for a while.  Look forward to fishing with you once again.  I really need to get out and get some time on the water.

Anyone up for a Pigeon Point launch on 5/1 or 5/2? I checked it out this past Sunday, and this is far and away one of the most protected spots to launch I've seen on the Peninsula. The only hassle is the stairs, but with two guys, even that shouldn't be a big deal.

Where is Pigeon Point? I want to make the opener but I'm also going to csba so I don't want to drive farther than I have to for the rockfish. I'm coming back to pick up the family for camping at Mendo after rockfish.
Everybody dies, not everybody lives. What did you do today?

It's not close. ~200 miles or so.

You could go north as well above Cape Mendocino but thats not close either.

For me. I'd rather avoid Pigeon Point since a couple of friends of mine on boats have spotted whitey there  (probably due to the close proximity to Ana Nuevo).
