So we are getting nearer to the season of the deep blue and I am posting to get this off my chest. May 1st is a Thursday and I believe the beginning of the Rock fish season. Am I to premature to post this? or is anyone else thinking of hitting the deep on this day? Let me know and we'll start now to coordinate the where, when and we know why of this kicker debut for 2008. Doesn't it open a month earlier in parts of central california? or am I just delirious from the fever? :smt004

May 1st is just around the corner. North or South of Pigeon pt is OK by me. If is North of PPt, Still Water Cove sounds good to me but if is South of PPt Still Water Cove sounds better...... No..wait....What?
Yeap!!!! is Rock Fish Fever...I hope the weather let us get out for the grand opening. :smt003 can't wait to try my new sea horse.

Weather permitting Frank and I will be hitting Shelter Cove North on the opener. I plan on diving to pop some abs before or after fishing for AOTY points.
Maybe another quick dive on friday morning before we come back down to Mendo for the CSBA tourny as I will have gifted my abs to Frank.

Talked with Brain and he and I will be heading points north with a tentative Shelter Cove fishing locale. If the wheather is favorable probably camp at the Shelter Cove Camp Grounds which offers all the amenities that a single minded fisherman could want.
If any ideas are brewing in those :anger feverish rock fishing minds out there post and lets get this started. Reason for the Northern route is the Mendo Derby is that weekend so WHY THE HELL NOT! :smt010
I'll follow up on a camp site so post if your in.

Any suggestions from the Northern Boys would be appreciated.

Well, probably not going up north... But still have the FEVER!  :colors: After running around, looking for all my SW gear i am thinking Stillwater Cove, but I am also thinking it might be a bit busy for the opening day?  Any other south bay guys planning on doing some fishing the first few days of RF season?!!?!?

I've been itching real bad for the 5/1 opening day. Weather permitting, I'll take a day off and go south just so i can brag about it  :smt003 Santa Cruz would be ideal for me because it's closer. I'm hoping there wouldn't be too many PBs if any and I heard beginning of the season can be very productive there. But i'll be interested in joining others also if any.

Frank, I'll have my turkey fryer at CSBA if you want to cook up any of your rockfish bounty.

I'd like to try Limekiln instead. It's very easy to stray over to the restricted areas at Stillwater as far as I understand it.
