Paige joined the fleet of yaks at the lake today.  We trolled the north end for fairly slow action.  As we cruised up the channel she got slammed.  Super funny watching her Kea go backwards until she wrestled the rod out of the flushmount.

Way to go kiddo!

ps-her feet really aren't that big! Shes wearing jellys old Teva.  Anyone know where I can get a size 2 kid bootie?

Awesome fish Paige, You were still smiling when we met up with you and your dad a little while after you landed that big fish. Fishing with family always makes for special times.

She definitely started there...first rod was a Zebco Barbie.  Then she had a Daiwa underspin which was great, I really recommend them for advanced kiddie fishing.  She saved up her own money last year and bought herself Penn spinning combo and is now learning the ways of the bait caster. It is a little scary putting $200 worth of sinking rod and reel in her care, but if something happens, at least she was fishing with her pops.  Maybe a Baidarka would be good idea.

No matter what, the best part is watching the sliegh ride she gets out of any decent fish.  Her little Kea was JAMMING...we would need to be on a tuna to get the same effect.  I am just thrilled to have a new yakker in the family, as jelly is momentarily distracted.

She went with "schoolie", and I think that fits pretty good.

Not sure if any other kids even signed up (except Jelly)?  But she is having a great time and she is busy planning her season.
