Jeff-

Nice meeting you out there. Great job on finding those bruisers. The kids couldn't hold out any more out there so, we packed it up a little while after we chatted. Great day though... Jr. caught his first senko fish and second. That morning wind sucked the life out of Jr early on... and me too.

Ok, home at last. Waaaay too hot out there, the dreaded water like glass. Fish dont stay shallow out there with conditions like that. A nice breeze would have been nice.

So got there around 11:30 and chatted with Brian a little bit as he was pulling out and hit the water. Headed over to Freddie and his kids for a quick hello and headed over to my favorite points looking for action. Water was on the outgo and had some good current. I noticed a boat working the opposing point of the break (I'd say maybe 150 yards across) and as soon as I get my first cast in that boat is already on top of me and casts his lure not even three feet where mine landed! Are you serious?! I just sat there with them not even ten feet from me in awe watching them cast after cast to where I chose to start fishing. I mean it's not MY spot, but have a little respect. So I paddle over to the point he was working when I got there, and what do you know?! They follow me over there too! I hook a fish but it comes off. So I get aggrivated and do a fast paddle over to another productive spot maybe 800 yards down the bank. I watch him as he cuts between Freddie and his boys and within 5 minutes they are 10 feet from me again. I about just left. Finally after about 10 minutes of them fishing next to me lol. They take off and leave. I hook another fish but it comes off. That was about the only action I had for the first three hours. I about called it quits, then my friend calls me and I throw a plastic worm at this big pile of hydrilla, and then my friend tells me a good friend of ours was killed at work today, I swear to god when he said today, my pole went crazy. I was in awe about our friend but I had a huuuge fish on the end of my line and told my friend sorry but I had to call him right back. I swore I had a striper on the end of my line, this thing was all over the place. Then I saw it  :smt103 This thing had to be at least 25" long. I didnt have a tape with me so I will never know. But in the last pic of me holding it. From my knuckle to my elbow it 18" so that can help you judge the length lol. (I'm a big guy 6'3" 260 lbs) I weighed it out and it evened out at 9.1lbs. Wow! Big fish! So Im shaking trying to take pics and video. And I am thinking, this is like some wierd omen/karma thing with the whole hitting my line at the same time my friend tells me about the death of another friend. Any opinions? Wiiierd. So I get two more casts in the same area and hook another nice fish. 5lbs 11oz. I decide to call it quits because Im quite shaken about my friend. It's the second time this year a friend of mine has lost his life.  :smt010 Pics

Sorry to hear about your friend dude.  But on the half full side, nice hawg!.  Give those pb'ers hell.  Either they were complete tards or they were purposely f-ing with you.  Put a big old swim bait on and fire a shot across their bow.
