NCKA'ers,

Recently got a used Ocean Kayak  (the scuba dive version) I am rigging it for fishing so far have storage, fish finder and rod holders. I am looking for scupper stoppers for the seat area. The ones I am seeing on line and in the stores appear to be for the current/fishing versions (they are for round scupper holes). Mine appear to be oval. The largest Ocean Kayak ones don't quite do the trick. Anyone know where I can get some that will fit my model? OR does someone have a nice little hack that they could share with me.

Thanks

Eric

Here's the chart as to which scupper stoppers fit which OK models.

http://www.oceankayak.com/product_support/downloads/ScupperSizeChart08.pdf

And you can order them here ...

I hope this covers the kayak model you have.  If not, let me know and I'll track down which ones you need.

Thanks for the reply Allen. The red ones (the largest) on the link you sent are the ones I tried and they are round. They come close to fitting but not quite. The scupper holes in my 'yak are more oval about 2" X 1". I'll try an load some pics when I get home tonight so you can see what I mean.

Thanks again,

E

Allen,

It has 'Dive Kayak' on the side. Two hatches and there are wells in the aft that clearly look like they are designed for a scuba tank. The guy I bought it from had it listed as a "Ocean Kayak Scrambler XT" When I get home I'll take some measurements and look for some id marks if you need more info. And If I can get my act together I'll snap a few pictures.

Thanks

Eric

Though I cannot find it at the moment, I know I saw a posting that had intrigued me.  It was home made scupper plugs made from foam looking balls, possibly for a nerf gun or something.  They looked really form fitting, and easy to make, and if I loose mine I think thats what I will do too.

Don't know if this will help or not. Ocean Kayak site has a closeout on old style Scupper stoppers. Scrambler XT is listed.

Eric - we have 'em at Aquan Sports in San Carlos. Let know how many you need and I'll save 'em for you. I don't know where your location is but we can always work out a shipping plan.
