Everybody who reads this site should take a few minutes to state their opinion to those who are making the MLPA decisions. Support proposal 2XA in your e-mails and send them here:

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

How about changing the limit to 1 Ling instead of 2 and 5 RF instead of 10?

Be OK with me but the guys on Coastside would string you up which is understandable when you gotta pay $$$$$$$ to fill up.

The brief article makes it sound like they've closed my area, but it's still open until 4/1.

I've got a date with a vanishing icon on Monday.  I'm thinking of catching and releasing it - on video of course.

AB-you've got bigger things to worry about.  They are now proposing a bunch of areas for closure due to over harvest of yellow eye...and they are your spots...shelter cove and the cape.

Looks like I might be OK.  I wouldn't be one to instantly oppose closure of an area that I love to fish, but I do admit that it would be very frustrating to have to comply with a closure based on yelloweye catch when I've NEVER caught one in my usually-less-than-60' haunts...

10 People Cited For Illegal Salmon Fishing

10 People Cited For Illegal Salmon Fishing
SACRAMENTO (AP) ― State game wardens have cited 10 people for catching young chinook salmon in the Sacramento River to use as bait.

The state Department of Fish and Game says the citations were handed out in four separate instances this week in Colusa, Sutter and Yolo counties.

In Sutter County, a man was using a machete and a large piece of cloth to catch salmon at the river's edge .

In Colusa County, a group was found with 50 young salmon in a bucket and an illegal net.

It is illegal to fish for young salmon.

The citations were issued as federal fishery managers prepare to impose strict limits on ocean salmon fishing to protect dwindling stocks in the Sacramento River system.
