I have reserved a Camp Site at Thumb Camp at Lake Sonoma for Sat nite 4/5. This is a remote boat in campsite has Picnic Tables and fire rings. I will be launching at the Main Ramp after checking in at 8:30. I predict that the fishing will be very good I will be targeting Smallies and Steelies but the area around the camp is very good for LMB. It's a good paddle to the camp but I want to troll for awhile anyway people wanting a shorter paddle can launch at Yorty Creek(no trailers) but must visit the Headquarters for a parking pass and combo to the Gate. The more the merrier the site holds 8 people if we have more we will have to get another site. Here is a link to pictures of the Campground I have site #1 http://www.spn.usace.army.mil/lakesonoma/thumb.htm
More info to follow.

Hmmm... maybe I can bring my bow and do some pig hunting too.  The Lake Sonoma's pig archery season ends 4/12.

Hey Mike Dale here I can't believe we haven't meet before, Thumb Creek's one of my favorite sites at Lake Sonoma, camped there a few times with my brothers family. I'm still yakless but I was thinking of taking the stink boat up, if its allowed, and do some fishing and chilling. I can't stay overnight, have honeydos on sunday, I'll get up there around 11:30/12:00. We call that little creek arm just south of camp catfish puke creek. One day we spent all morning fishing for LMB and got zip. So we pulled in there and started fishing for sunfish, when the dog started watching the water, the brush started shaking and this huge bass stuck it's head out of the water and it puked up a 18" catfish head and skeleton hence the name.
     Tight lines Dale

this sounds exactly like the kind of thing I'd like to do.  I'll be on travel this week otherwise, would love to join what would surely be a blast of a trip

I might be in for the trip. If I do go I'll bring my skiff to shuttle gear to the campsite or would that be against the rules for AOTY since I would techincally be 'mothershipping' to the campground?

Good plan Mike!....my official A-Plan has began!   Smallies and Steelies?
....do I got to get a bunch more *NEW&SHINEY stuff or will that OLD*newSHINEYstuff in the bottom of my bag do?
wigglewarts and Brads lures?    or what would be my easiest/ best choice for trollin up one of those Steels?

Car goes in the shop tomorrow morning.  Woohoo!
