WTG on the mud marlin... they are so much fun. Tough little buggers and when they decide to stick to the bottom... just keep the pressure on it and enjoy the fight.

Scott-

Life's good... what can I say. Playing Mr. Mom isn't all it's kick up to be though... kind of hard on the pocket book not to mention all the time driving the boys to karate then little league and where ever else they need to be. But what can I say... it's all good. Especially when it works out that I can get out on the water.

"Mud marlin"... that's a new one to me, but I like it... Mud Marlin is pretty much the only fish I can consistently catch!

Chuck putting his equipment to the test.

P3260147

The great thing about it was that this beast towed Chuck around and had to reach at least 3 mph. Chuck was giving Mooch a run for his money with all the yelling ( like a little girl ), you'd have thought he was on a roller coaster ride with the only thing missing is the raised hands in the air.
It was alot of fun just watching Chuck coming close to the snapping point each time he brought this Bohemuth up to the surface. I thought for sure that Chuck would snap his rod in half but I have to give it to him for not doing so. I have in the past on these flying kites or as Freddie puts it Mud Marlins.
It was great being out with the fellas it gets lonely fishing alone ( for the haters but someone has to do it). Duane and I hooked up early to retrieve two small smelt which Duane must have suffered a small degree of frost bite having thrown the net at least 50 times for two tinnie tiny smelt.  I nurse it for at least two hours before it croaked then cut it up to tip my sabaki with no luck. That was amazing that we couldn't even bring in bait fish after paddleing through clouds of them during the day.
The bay was unimagainably beautiful and all day I thought of all you poor suckers slaving away at your jobs....NOT. Been there done that :moon
Before and after the launch an old friend showed up in the form of a missing in action kayaker Bob Neal. Great seeing you Bob.
As always mucho fun being with the Bros Duane,Scott,ChuckE and the ever elusive JTF. Oh yeah before I forget...GET A BIGGER NET CHUCK !.

It was a nice day, I had one solid bite that didn't stick.  Other than that, just alot of time to relax and practice my paddle stroke.  Heres that other pic of the green side of the beast Chuck.

Good fishing with all of you guys.  See ya soon enough I'm sure.
