 You might be able to launch where the rd crosses over the north end of the lake. i have not tried this area

 yet. You might find the same bite launching @ capel ( Free as you know )

yeah, & probably if you drive up to capel cost more anyways now days & you lose 30 mins...
I might try the narrows before it gets too crazy...
