Finally got a weekend that I don't have to work. The snow is too deep for me to get anything done up there. So, I got the bug to get out on the water. Anybody got plans going?

Go ahead and rub it in why don't ya.........LOL. Congrats! It has been killing me reading all of these reports about catching dinos while I am working my butt off.

I live in Oakland so I am up for just about anywhere in the bay area.

Hey Dave,

I gotta work on Saturday but Sunday I may be up for it... I'm not the go-to guy for establishing a dino hunting plan, but I am game to tag along... I finally got my anchor safely rigged and built a snare a couple weeks ago...

If you pick a spot to launch, I'd be up for meeting you... the only place close to me in RWC is where Redwood Creek intersects the shipping channel...

Cheers, John

Hey John, Sunday sounds fine with me. It seems like the area near the Oakland airport has been pretty good lately. It is an easy launch. And it just happens to be about 4 miles from my house....lol. I have not checked the weekend tides yet. I will have to wait until I get home to do that. I am working down in a bank vault right now and all I have is really sloooooooooooooow dial up. YUK.

But, like I told Rory, I am game to go where the fish are.

For Sunday, approximate tides at OAP...

Low @ 0803, 1.4
High @ 1406, 5.7

Not a big change, but it beats sitting on the couch...

Is the OAP launch off of Harbor Bay Parkway at Bay Farm Island?

I'm pretty sure I can score bait from Laine's in Alviso...

Starting to sound like a plan...

With those tides, looks like we would want to launch around 10 or so. And then wait for the high tide.

I think you have it right on the launch area. If you search this website, I remember seeing the directions before. I just point the truck and go......lol.

I can probably also get some bait on my side.

Now I just have to find all of my gear. It has been months since I was on the water. I am sure it is scattered all over the place.

I found the map to the launch, and yeah, I know exactly where that spot is... the spring & summer of 2007 I had a several week long project right across the street where I was doing a bunch of geophysical testing for liquefaction mitigation project ('mo office parks = 'mo mun$y).  I actually ran into BDB (Steve) on my way to the job site one day... his office is right there too.

Can you guys give me some better directions? Like from coming down either 101 or from a better direction? Can I google the area you are talking about i.e. Harbor Bay Parkway at Bay Farm Island? Let me know  :smt003

I'd like to join you. I have a newly outfitted boat that I am itching to get into the water. And I live in Oakland, and was planning on going out to the airport area at about 10 on Sunday even before I saw this thread, so I guess I'll see you there.

Word in the local reports say this is our best bet and that the tidal direction was not a factor in the bites(hitting on the IN&out!)....I was down there on Sat.morn in the windywash, but only could take 2hrs of punishment(madness?)
There is a bait shop named Mikes somewhere in oakland that has the quality bait needed.
I'm not sure where it is located...but the GrassShrimp were phat&healthy!
I will probably be there sat-am & sun-am in full HUNTDOWN mode!  weather is lookin good, FINALLY!  :smt004  NoHURRICANEforcastedTHISweekend!

Ah yeah boyeeee... I finally get to meet the man... after all the hours/miles FisHunter put in trying to catch a dino in December you're due for a classic victory photograph (can you get the sturgeon snare in your mouth?).

I plan to arrive around the crack of 8:30 (or nine) on Sunday... really looking forward to some beginers luck.  I will be coming from the Penninsula and plan to get my bait from the source (Laine's in Alviso).
