Mooch, are you going to be free-diving the bean this year? If so, I lost a few jigs and am hoping you can find them for me there this summer,  :yak :snorkel :shark

J, my main goal is to spear that shark that attack my buddy Dan (shark attack Dan)  :smt002

Great Report guys.  Mooch, CONGRATS!!   :smt001

Joel, you should kiss butt to Fuzz and Spinal Tap.  They have a wealth of knowledge, experience and are really cool about sharing some productive spots.  If you drive, we can get some scallops, just south of Carmel.  And by the way, if you hit the "secret spot" a little later in the summer, you might get some of these:

Thanks Stu! I should have gotten into this spearo thing YEARS ago :smt011 Never realized what a good wetsuit can do to combat the cold conditions of Nor Cal.

Regarding Fuzz and Spinal tap.........I might have to wait and grow some gills to hang out with these pros. For now, I'm happy and comfortable enough hunting the shallows and I LOVE the simplicity of the pole spear. My fishing rods are beginning to look like pole spears now :smt002 :smt003

LET'S DIVE SOON!!!! :snorkel

:smt044 :smt044  Mooch, you're probably making Fuzz mad by mentioning me in the same sentence with his name when you talk about freediving abilities.

I'm posting this picture not to show off or anything, but to show you that you already have all the "right equipment" for getting big fish.  Because if you look closely, you can see that my 200+lbs of sexy is primarily concentrated around my midsection as well.   :smt013

Spinal Tap, That's one nice fish to "not" show off with.  Where'd you spear that one at?  I'm hoping I'll get to take a picture to not show off soon too.

GB2, one of the great things about spearing, in my inexperienced opinion, is that you get to choose which fish ends up at the end of your spear...But I guess if you really wanted to CNR it's nothing a little neosporyn and a waterproof bandaid wouldn't cure   :smt005  Only kidding of course.

I'm with Mooch, now that I've experienced it I wish I would have tried it out years ago.  Unfortunately it's making it hard for me to try chasing down some AOTY points.

Nice job boys, makes me want to jump in myself.  You guys will be snail slayers this April!

PLEASE don't use that particular pic....the "belly" you see is just trapped air in my wetsuit

Mooch-I have been on the mountain bike a lot lately.  Me and Leah are training for the Napa Valley Dirt Classic in April http://www.puc.edu/Pioneers/NVDC/ as part of our new pact to goof off together more frequently.  Leah did 10 miles of single track yesterday...I was sooooo stoked.  Besides having way mre fun together than I can remember I have been observing an interesting side benefit...I found that I starting to trap less "air" in my suit.  :smt003

Can't mention the other side benefit  :smt058

Oh yeah...that is a SICK WSB!!!

Danglin-the trail is moderate aerobically, but a few sections are super narrow with a BIG drop off.  If they walked these sections, they would be fine with the rest. You can see maps at www.mendotrails.org Bring your bike the weekend of the CSBA and I will give you a tour.  This is the trail...

Wow... Sean.... you really are getting around on your 29'er.  I love that classic "Scwafish-style" video with cool sound track and all.  I don't know how I missed it before.

We should try to meet half way and hit up Annadale State Park in Santa Rosa for some sweet single track... but let me get back in shape first.  Right now, I'd be winded just riding from the parking lot to the trailhead.
