Family friend got a call Wed night about big fish around the corner from Monterey (Spanish Bay).  He launched from Monterey yesterday (Thurs) and was fishing for an hour and half for nada/no bait either.  Got another call on the water from same friend who launched later and said “sorry”, come to Soldiers.  The party boats were there too, but the fishing was relatively slow.  They only got 4 fish (between 2 boats).

After pulling the plug, he drove to Moss to flush and wash down instead of doing it in the SJ heat.  There, he talked to some guys coming in who didn’t do that good either (one out front on the canyon edge, another from Pajaro).  Mostly undersize fish between them, not sure if they had fish.

Bottom line, there are some fish there, but its slower and smaller than two weeks ago.  All it takes is one, so it’s still worth the try.

Good Luck in the Tournament guys.

That's pretty sad.  Wonder if I should brave the surf/swell at linda mar?
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.

PS,
Are you scouting for the tourney tomorrow?  If so, maybe you should hit Linda on Sat and have the others fish Moss on Sat then compare notes.

Not sure what I'd do if I were fishing the tourney.  Sort of a toss up given the report I got.

Undersized fish seemed more concentrated out front of Moss and off Pajaro.  BTW, sand dabs are fantastic.  Great plan "B".

not in the tourney, with my parents out here we're just trying to catch a bunch of fish and have fun.  I'll be sure to share recon information without bias or ommisions though!
