What a Beautiful day on the Bay. Kayakjack, Lyle, Holy Toledo and I met at the bait shop at 7:30. Then we pushed off the beach about 8:30 as planned with a nice little paddle out thru  calm waters and a lite breeze to the fishing grounds. Patrick and I were anxious to try our new anchoring systems...........thanks to all the photos on the site they worked like a charm. This was our first kayak sturgeon try. It was difficult to keep the attention focused on the rod tip and the fishing pole got a little heavy at times...........just about the time my mind drifted and .......bang ...bang ......batter up........swing and a miss!  That kept my attention right up to the time we called it a day.  I kept telling myself today was more of a learning experience but it would have been nice to get a hookup.  Next weekend the tides are supposed to be better so unless the weather doesn't cooperate we'll give it another shot. Thanks Again Jack for the lesson.

Nice try and thanks for the report. I fished it yesterday for eight hours, One dink Striper and a Flounder. Heard of one sturgeon landed. The prime time is just around the corner, my biggest (75 inch) was caught in the month of July. keep at it and you guys will score.

Looks like you guys had some nice weather for a shake out trip.  Next weekend definitely will present some prime tides.  Keep at it!

Thanks, Allen, for the pix and report. Yeah, those "classroom-on-the-water" days are a necessity so glad to hear you got your anchor systems perfected. It's the pits to get serious on the water and then come up short due to equipment malfunctions. It was good to meet you and Patrick at ISE, too. Hope to fish with you in 2008!

Get the gear GEARED, then it's all downhill from there......Thanks for the report and pics!  ain't it great when the anchor does its job right......now if those targeted would get the memo.
