Once again, but inline this time..

I hadn't seen anyone use a rc boat in the US before.  I know the Japanese have RC boats for fishing already.

Here's one I found on the web..
http://www.seihin-world.com/s/2006/05/24_0357.php

Quote
Radio-controlled fishing boat cruising to a target point to release a fishline. This boat installed with a fish detector and a water temperature sensor detects under-water conditions and better fishing points. Besides, GPS installed on the boat can automatic drive to the designated point.

It only costs about $6 grand.

I saw one on TV today being used to set the hook on panfish.

My x-coworker who fishes the Delta a lot (from shore) built his own "bait transporter". But I (jokingly) told, him that with all the money he spent to make one, he could have easily bought a kayak instead = the ultimate bait transporter :smt002

But, to each his own :smt001 (whatever tickles your pickle)

Pretty cool, but I want the thrill of the bait getting smashed all for myself!!!

Saw some bass pros use this as a gimmicky 5 minute fishing tournament.  it looked really fun.

I saw something similar to this several years ago. The only difference was they used the RC boat to get their line next to the dam. Their bait and bobber ( which was a plastic milk jug ) were all transported on the RC boat. When it got to where they wanted it they just yanked it off and had the RC boat return right away. They nailed 'em too.

Out here by the forebay I know some people use the basic RC boats as bait runners. I've never been out there before but there is no boating or water contact in there but they do allow fishing. Some of the best areas are supposed to be just out of range of even a long surf cast.

Originally I got into fishing to fish.

This is just the kind of fishing I don't get. Why don't they just go the whole 10 yards and install a barco lounger on the damn thing, w/ a fridge for the Schlitz, 100" Widescreen flat panel, shoot the fish w/ a spear, jerk off, and go to sleep.

yeah, I think some people try to OUT-STUPID one another and this is what happens.
Not much ADVENTURE or WORK to be SATISFIED BY!     I didn't even enjoy seeing the fish come up,  even though IT WAS A BIG ONE?   WHY?

They would probably enjoy using a  radio controlled airplane to run down ducks and pheasant in the air.

Back in the Phil Islands, we used to fly kites with razor blades on the nose of the kite for cheap thrills :smt002 The object of the game was to cut the line of the enemy kite or make repeated dive bombs on the kite itself till it hit the ground :smt077......pirates of the sky.....ahhh...da good 'ol days :smt003

Hey Joel,
There is a book that came out a couple years ago and got lots of critical acclaim called "Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini (I think they're even making a movie about it).  It takes place in Afghanistan (pre-war, 1970s) and kids basically fly kites with sharp glass encrusted kite strings and the object was to cut the strings of the other kid's kites.  There was also something about chasing the kites once they were cut, hence the title.  Anyway, since you've participated in such games I thought you might enjoy the book or the movie when it comes out.  Oh, there is all sorts of plot and stuff too but I'm sure you can handle it.
