Got to sneak out this morning (9:30)to give the new mini-x it's maiden voyage, carried down to the hole by my cabin to see a drift boat parked there  :smt013 he hadn't hooked any thing  :smt004. I figured that there was some fish so I waited until he dropped lower on the run. Paddled across and up and was drifting the upper part of the hole on my second cast my plug gets nailed hot fish it's jumping all over the place the guys in the driftboat aren't looking too happy. Looks like a 7/8lb hatchery hen but she comes off thrashing along side as I try and net her. I park the yak and take a walk to rest the hole for about 20min, come back anchor right in the middle of the hole casting to the tailout,5 or sixth cast the plug just stops I set  the hook and the fish turns upstream and does a long deep slow run heavy fish, long deep fight only one roll after what seems forever he finally comes up nice Chrome Wild Buck 28". Had another good pulldown but it didn't stick. Hey this Mini-X works pretty Good no skunk in this boat. I'll be back tomorrow.

Do you recommend the Mini X for river drifting? Inquiring minds wanna know.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.
