Just wanted to thank EK for his top shelf presentation on Sturgeon fishing today   :salut:  and many thanks to those who showed up to learn from the master himself  :smt023

I have more clinics scheduled at Aquan including an Alan Tani reel repair / maintinance clinic (we are looking at March 22 - keep this date free - will post more about it when it gets closer - keep an eye on the General Fishing Tips forum).

Anyway, here are some pics from the EK / Sturgeon seminar....

Ditto on all thanks Erik you did a great job on the presentation, Joel as usual great job on the man dogs :smt003. It was my first time at Aquan Sports and this place has got the kayak stuff, if I ever do cross over to the Ocean Kayak brand that will be the place I go, good people. Thanks again and nice to have meet you all :smt006.

It was neat to meet the guru of dino nabbers. And you guys put a serious dent in the egg rolls. Almost underestimated. The man dogs definitely taste better when circumcised.

Anybody hear from Adam today? Two more days to go.

Hey Guys... thanks for turning out today for the seminar.  It was nice to meet some new faces and see some of the old ones again too.  It was a good day for fishing banter... glad you guys got something out of the seminar.  Looking forward to the next outing.

Joel... thanks for the hospitality... was a fun day.

Thanks for putting on the seminar Erik. Good info, and maybe I'll actually get out there for one of those dinos. Montezuma Slough isn't that far away, and I've also heard of a "mystery hole" full of the beasts further in the delta.

Joel - Many thanks for hosting the event, circumsized man dogs and all. Not so many thanks for posting the picture of the nearly bald spot on the top of my head.

Hojoman - Thanks for bringing the lumpia. I'm pretty sure I stopped at three. I'll remember Kings Egg Rolls !

One question for Erik - I assume that you are using some sort of three way swivel to attach the weight to the line. Have you experimented at all with slidos? I wonder if they would transmit the bit just a little bit better, and possibly decrease the "un-naturalness" of the bait when the fish takes it in its mouth.

Regards,
Scott

Thats exactly what I use... a slider above a snap swivel.  That's pretty much the standard setup.

Scott, don't think of it as a bald spot...but rather, a solar panel patch that fuels your body and mind :smt002

I'll chime in with my share of "thankyou's" too... thanks Joel for organizing, and special thanks to Eric for coming down to give the informative presentation!  Nice to also meet some other local kayaking fisher-peeps that I can learn from... just picked up the yaking thang last spring but I'm hooked!

Happy New Year!
