Jfish,

Way to go on "catching" Must have been a kick on the 4wt. I have only got a 5lb'er on mine and it took me 45 minutes. I only had a 2lb leader on it so I had to be real careful.

Isn't it a great site to see all those fish jumping in the evening. I have a sore neck from trying to see where the were. Why is it they are always behind you???

Jfish,

You are in deep poo now.  You’ve got the fly bug.  Now you will have to spend at least a grand just for starters,  for fly tying gear and start tying your own.  Surely you’ll have to get a fly dying desk.  http://www.flytyingdesk.com/rolltop.html :smt044

Looks like a clouser minnow to me. They work well this time of year. BTW since you are really trout jedi now, why don't you join us for the derby at New Melones? :smt003

Hot damn!! Wtg jfish!! I was worried you were gonna get skunked too after you had been there for 3 or 4 hours with no fish. I couldn't find you after I stopped for lunch. I figured you may have thrown in the towel. Way to stick it out and land some lunkers.

I only managed one more trout after I saw you. I was heading back in for lunch and right as I was making my turn for the shore, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzz. Turned out to be a couple inches bigger than my first trout and very fat. I'd call it 4-5lbs but I couldn't say for sure. I gotta get a scale again. Don't know what happened to mine  :smt011

Hope to see you guys out there next weekend. Looks like the weather should cooperate. I'll probably fish Sunday.

Jfish,

GREAT narration, and beautiful fish.  Not a bad day of personal bests!  I put the old fly pole away but I guess it is time to bring it along also.  Were you using a floating or sinking line?  How long was the streamer?  Congratulations, great job!

i was using 4wt floating line
