I went to Caspar with Jr. to meet up with Kevin and Travis.  Ocean was beautiful.  We paddled out to the end of the cove and tried the pinnacles around the corner and out front most of the morning.

The bite was SLOW.  Kevin managed a few dinks and one real nice red before heading back towards the cove.  Travis was having a tougher time, and was mostly hooking into a ton of dinks, but his spirits were still great.  I was getting a steady trickle of fish including a nice red, a big olive, and some nicer blues.  Jr. got a little queazy in the ground swell.

We headed back into the cove and the action improved.  Kevin popped a legal ling on his way in, an Jr. got his first legal ling off of a yak.

I nailed a nice cabby while dead-sticked and talking to Kevin on the radio.  We picked up another ling and then called it a day.  We were off the water at 1230.  Ended up with two 25" lings, a cabby, a red, an olive and a mix of blacks and blues.

Spent the evening processing fish for tourney tacos.  I cut up enough fish for 200 tacos...My hands are a MESS!

I had a great time fishing with you guys.  Glad to see that you guys got some nice fish there. The biggest thing I caught was a wicked sunburn on my face.     Next time I am gunna slay them!

Sean - thanks for showing me around, I had a great time.  Travis, it was good to meet you and I'm sure we'll fish together soon.

A diver I spoke with earlier mentioned there were halibut in the little cove.  Sean pointed me to the sand and I started to drift my way in.  I was was hit and it released so I dropped back down.  Got hit again and I thought I had a halibut on...  Ended up with a nice ling cod, measuring 27-28".  Hit on an anchovy fish trap.

WTG, Chris on the first legal ling solo!  That is awesome!!!  WTG, Dad, on teaching junior to be such a stud fisherman at a young age!  And on kayaks...  I love it!
