The fall feeding frenzy is turning on. The largemouths are stacked up in the shallows on the  southend and are finally starting to show some interest. Ive been on the water ALOT over the past 10 days and have been watching the standard issue LMs moving in packs, as well as some huge bruisers on the cruise, but Ive struggled to take many victims. Viz is about 10' and it feels like springtime sightfishing except slower, much slower. Today was different, but I had changed my tactics some by going to a bigger crawjig and alternating with the super sized 7" senko and then using dead stick tactics. Painfully slow but affective today. Caught alot of fish considering how slow the presentation had to be and a few worthy of the photo op. It really is amazing how many fish are on the prowl in 2' to 10' of water. Any day now and it could go off.

Right out of the chute I blasted off to the southend and worked my way back. after the fishing I had to bail on the afterparty for another adventure, sorry I missed you.
Keep me posted on when you and the troops want to head over for a LM hunt. But you need to be more specific when reffering to clear lake and monsters. This is a very old place.

Thanks for the update Terry.  I was just thinking about how you were doing up there.  I've been fishing Spring Lake a lot, but it's been slow but good practice for me.  I've also been building up a small fleet of kayaks to store up there in Nice, and have upgraded my bass fishing gear that is nearly 20 years old!  I'm ready for Tule Island and Rodman Slough.  Do you think I should stick to the South for the Fall? I checked out Anderson Marsh area a few weeks ago, but the water is really low back there right now.

I spent alot of time talking with the pros from the FLW last week and they said rodmans is a bog right now.  I stay on the deeper southend and haunt Konocti bay mostly because its 2 minutes from my house and the close proximity to Richmund Park.  There have been hordes of bass packed up underneath the park docks. Ive yet to inspire them to strike but they are fun to watch while enjoying a steak sandwich and a brew.
