Cattle boat salmon limits 🛥️ 🐄

I got on a cattle boat out of Emeryville, the Sea Wolf, for the opening day of salmon, today, Saturday, June 27. The first salmon were hitting the deck before sunrise. The first three or four were easily 25 pounds but one deckhand estimated them to be 35 pound fish. It took another seven or eight hours, but everyone on the boat got limits. Most of the fish were under 10 pounds, maybe 12. Depths ranging from 25 pulls to 85 pulls. I used a cable bait for my first fish, most people used cable baits for all the fish, but I got my second bigger fish on a watermelon Apex. There were dozens of humpback whales, breaching, and tail slapping. Wind was howling. No way a kayak could’ve been out there safely. Overall, it was a great opener.

Great report, sounds like a great opener for the fleet!  I will be out there this week on a buddys 34 footer.
