Hi guys,
I want to change the standard rudder on my Hobie Passport to a bigger one since the one on this kayak is not working well.  If you have one that sitting around, I would like to buy it from you to get my yak ready for the Shelter Cove fishing trip in May.
Thanks for reading this post,
Sonny

Do you mean the sharkfin rudder? If so, those seem to be very difficult to find.

Doesn't have to be a Sharkfin.  Anything bigger than the one on my Passport will worth a try.  I have a hard time steering with current rudder.

I've got a spare "large" sailing rudder (twist-and-stowe), like this one:

Not sure if that would be an upgrade or not...

I think it should work.  LMK how much you want and I'll send you a check. Thanks a lot NwM.

Hey Sonny, I have that same kayak. Had some rudder issues a while back; the rod came undone from the lever inside the hull. I epoxied and then screwed mine back on, and it's worked fine ever since.

I will agree that the stock rudder on this hull leaves a lot to be desired - I've been meaning to look for something larger.

Interesting. Does that bungee help to snap it into place?

The bungee keeps rudder in place when the rudder in down position.  The 3 nuts and bolts are fastened to the old rudder.
