Went up to the Collins Lake looking for an upgrade on the trout since the Big Blue was a little swelly. I counted more than 20 powerboats and a couple of kayakers on the water in this little lake. Overall it was a tough bite. I only saw a few nets flying from the powerboats.

Thanks for the report. And for touching on the Piscifun reels, I noticed you use them often in videos and I was wondering how they held up. Kayak fishing ain't kind to reels. They seem tougher than the low price suggests.

I'll vouch for the Piscifun reels.  I've been using a few (that I purchased using Moo's discount code!) for a couple years now - great reels for the price.  I've had 2 Alijoz 300s, 3 or 4 of the Torrents, and a couple of the Chaos in a couple different sizes - they all work pretty well, and I haven't broken one yet.  I like them for the kayak because if I lose or break one, it isn't crazy expensive to replace.  I also use old Penns for this reason too, for heavy duty applications.

In contrast to the unskunkable Moo, I am eminently skunkable 🦨…

Haha. Hey Ron, 15" inch crappie is BIG. Are the crappie spawning or did you catch them while trolling for trout? I need a crappie for AOTY. Teach me how to catch crappie  :smt044

Not spawning yet as of last Sunday. I was trolling for trout, 30' of water off an island with trees in the water. Water temp comes up 5 deg and it will be time to chase them. Rollins is going to be GOOD this year for 18" Crappie!!!!
