Last mentioned almost a year ago.
I've got a buddy wanting to hit the north creek arm for catfish, any tips about the north end for whatever else is in there?
I've only been there on the bike.

A buddy and me fish there quite a bit, in the warmer months. He saw it a couple days ago and said it looks like chocolate. That's not to say you can't catch anything if you try. I last fished it for catfish in late October. I fished the north end and caught lots of smaller ones, just what I was looking for. I skin them, head them, fin them and then grill them whole wrapped in foil. Mmmm good.
I've caught them trolling plugs for bass, those are the bigger ones. Otherwise, I anchor in about 10 feet of water, let the yak settle, and toss out circle hook loaded with shrimp. I like no weight, just the weight of the bait. Livers are great, just messier. If it seems slow, move to another spot.
Before it warms up I like trolling an A-rig around for the bass, even in discolored water.
I'd love to read your report if you go.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

At MendoBendo 1 year I was trolling for stripers and I saw large catfish swimming upside down on the surface. Someone at camp caught a large one from shore, when we cleaned it, it's belly had a bunch of black walnuts in it. They were floating all over the lake.
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

Got a later start than anticipated.
We went up river to just below the bridge.
On arrival I saw some shallow takes breaking the surface.
The wind was sub 5mph.
50 ish degrees  water.
Probably a 1 foot clarity.
Nobody was catching.

As nice a days as it was, there was 1 power boat on the water.
Just us 3 and 2 bankies all day.
Still beats being home mowing the lawn...
