10/21 Lake Sonoma WFO

Yea WINDY FRIKIN OCEAN 7am launch the whole lake covered in sheep no breaks constant wind all day. It's too bad because the fishing was pretty good, too windy to fish bass so I decide to troll till my arms hurt(7-2) I'm tired. Caught a few 12" smallies trolling across the dam. I was graphing Steelies at 35 to 40' but I noticed that the shad were at 15' since it was too windy to fish deep I started trolling 12/15' in 30/50' of water 5 mins in bendo the action wasn;t fast but I would hook up about every 15 mins all Day. Had over 20 hookups landed 11 all fat healthy Steelies only had 2 bleeders (my best day ever there) that wouldn't revive but sure will taste good. These fish fight great on light gear. Too tired to post much I will later if anyone wants details. This lake is  getting ready to explode maybe another week and they will be on top. I'll be there next weekend. 

WOW! Sounds awesome...gotta say tho Mickfish, that WFO condition is very seasonal typical Lake Blonoma. I used to hit it 3 times a week when the lake first opened - the sailboarders loved it!  Congrats on the boating of so many delicious specimens.

I hate my dial-up "out-in-the forest boonies" connection! I couldn't get the dang pics to load! I will check 'em out from work, thanks for the report.

How big was that larger steelie?

Didn't measure it the smaller one was 14 so I would guess a little over 19 it weighed just under 5. I measured one that I released at 21.5, A friend of mine PB had one that was just under 24.

You do make it look easy, but sure sounds like you have been fishing it pretty hard.

Some kind of waterbike, didn't get a close look it hauls a$$ has 2 kayak shaped hulls.
