Caught 9 legal lings today with most in the 25” - 29” range. Tsuri Michael caught more than I did. Also picked up a couple of 18” cabs, a black RF and a couple small lings and RF.  Fished mostly shallow 30’ to 60’. Kept 2 27” lings and a black RF.

First time at TC for me.

Was a fun day but I will say that gas station in Jenner must have the slowest pumps on the West coast, took what seemed like ten minutes just to get five gallons and watching the kayakers drive by heading to the spot became too much for me and I had to continue on my journey with only half a tank...

Lost count of how many Lings I pulled up but my rod arm was very sore by the end of the day. Thing is water was so clear evey so often a huge 40"+ Lingcod would come following the one I had caught to the surface so it was hard to change tactics to targeting rockfish!

Was my daughter's request she's tired of all my Asian inspired fish dishes. Gave several blues I pulled up on the paracord shrimp fly to my Filipino coworker yesterday and he surprised me with escabeche for lunch just now, really tangy delish dish!

Edit:  Wow that was hella good anybody want a leftover ham sandwich?

The recipe online is different for an air fryer vs deep fried. Did you use the wet batter on an air fryer?

Found a sea urchin spine embedded deep in the ling cheek. Don’t want that in my tacos.

I just deep fried it in a big pot of oil, still learning how to use our air fryer and I'm sure it's better for you but hard to beat the results of old school hot oil. Ended up with about five times more than we could eat so vacuum bagged and froze for future air fryer reheating. Just don't like how fresh frozen rockfish and lingcod turn out after thawing but if it's frozen after cooking it seems fine.

Even used a gas stove to heat the oil I'm still not convinced cooking or driving should be done with electricity    :smt001.

Yikes about the uni spine!

I do this too, and have pretty good results.
