my wife showed up with Hank.  total Jedi Mind trick.

started off with "dog sitting for the weekend" to "what do you think of this dog bed?"

for a year I was a bit miffed.  dog fur everywhere.  even Hank felt it.  he would stare at me from afar.  he stuck by my wife 100%.  as time went, we bonded.  bonded HARD!!  we jog together.  we do dog training together.  he kinda only listens to me.  he won't bark at the doorbell if I am home.  I point at the dog bed and he runs and lays down.

with my wife he is like a feral animal.  haha..

I have had a dog all my life.  but this one is different.  we are tight.  haha.   he is 8-9 now.

maybe Hank is the last dog.  we want to travel more and right now I spend Hobie money on dog sitting.  :D. I do love dogs.

If a seagull poops on you, statistically it was no accident.

so cool!!

I dont have that option..well kinda.  my dog has very little hair around his pink eyelids.  same with his snout.  I have to wipe sunscreen on his face.

I took him out early on and got his eye lids sunburnt  a bit.  I felt awful, and took him to the vet.

she admonished me and told me to stop it.  or tattoo his eyelids.  WTF???  or teach him to wear protection.  PPE.  no long sun days on a boat or kayak is a good thing for my poor dog.  he hates sunscreen.

Yeah Mabel gets the pink area of her nose sunburnt nearly every kayak outing in the spring/summer. I usually put a sunscreen chapstick on it but she licks it right off. Lately I've distracted her with a lickpad of peanut butter after applying, which helps. But I may resort to a screened muzzle with shade fabric weaved in. She may hate that but she would really hate being left out.
