Well, i have Tuesday off and am thinking of launching out of Bolinas, preferebly early. The swell forecast is at 5-7, and the Bolinas lagoon mouth should be okay in those conditions.

Anybody game for trolling for a few hours? They're still catching some fatties up there.

Never been there.  How far's the paddle to Dux?  I'll be with you in spirit!

It's a few miles. Not too bad, and it's fairly sheltered from the swells...sort of anyway.

Yeah, I'm still hoping the forecast comes down a bit for Tuesday - 6-8 is a little big for my taste.

Probably 7 or so, pretty much first light before the wind kicks in. Have you launched there before?

Andrew,

If you mean 10/23 and if the water is calm enough, I'll probably be in.  Let me know if you want to carpool the kayaks on my truck.

Hey Mike,
I sent you a PM - The 23rd it is. Carpooling sounds good. My brother might want to go too (we have a tandem), so if there's room that'd be great. We're happy to chip in for gas, etc.

Yes, I've launched at Bolinas heeps of times.

Take the first right turn (church on corner) just as you come into Bolinas....this takes you out past the tennis court to a good (North) launch site.   The SOUTH launch site (alongside the Bolinas Lagoon entrance...you get there by driving straight through Downtown Bolinas)....is a way-harder place to find parking and sometimes the put-in can be a bit of a portage.

Lock your car.   This is Bolinas, CA we're talking about here....Theft-wise, several cuts worse than the Oakland Avenues.

right now the forecast is good for that day windwise. light east wind early. light west wind later.

If I didn't have work, etc, I think I would be down for this one.

swell is not tiny tho. it is medium fall-quality surfer-swell. be careful.
