Went down to the Bay Area for some surf striped bass fishing and on my way home decided to hit Bay Tackle in Richmond. The store is now 3/4 empty and they have everything 40% off. All reels and rods are gone. I picked up a big spool of J-braid that should last me for years to come. It’s really sad seeing all these great  shops close one by one. Outdoor pro shop, Guns fishing & other stuff, and now Bay tackle. On other news, fishing was great!

There’s a new tackle shop in Novato called Fish Story you should go check it out. I remember when it opened and had barely anything now it’s stuffed with some really good stuff

Thanks for the heads up. I may have to check it out if I'm ever in the area. Fortunately, I live only a few minutes from Fisherman's Warehouse and Sportsman's W. But sometimes, these small tackle shops have what others do not.

Thanks for the surf striper pic! The water looks good.
I really miss surf stripers.
Lure or sand crabs? I like white and chartreuse Hair-raisers.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

I caught it with a lure (lucky craft). Nowadays, I’ve been enjoying catching them on a lure rather than soaking bait and wait type of fishing. When I saw the forecast I just had to go. I was going to go for perch on my other rod, but I figured could beat the Bay Area traffic if I left early.
