My shark shield seems to be fraying, with some fine wires sticking out thru the cover. It's definitely not finger-friendly!

In the picture, I circled one place where a tiny wire protrudes thru the cover, and  there are at least a couple others. I'm not sure what to do about it, as I don't think I can cut them, and pulling with a pliers seems like a bad idea.

Any suggestions?

Ooo - that looks poke-y.

You could try to snip the frays off with small flush cut diagonal snips.

Then maybe sleeve it with some sort of rubber or plastic hose?

It's so small that it's be hard to cut, but a rubber sleeve might work...

If you can push them so they lie more flush to the main cable then shrink-wrap over them, it will also make that section a bit stiffer to minimize further breakdown of the wires beneath.

That's a good idea. I have some large-sized heat-shrink tubing that I'll probably never use for anything else, but need to see if it is sufficiently large...

They even have heat shrink braided sleeve. Here’s the link https://www.amazon.com/Sonoreboom-Heat-Shrink-Braided-Sleeving/dp/B0CB13TJNX . It might be better than the heat shrink wrap because it won’t trap water.

You're lucky it's even working. Shark Shield Freedom 7 is poorly constructed through and through. Eventually the electronics always fail.

This is my 2nd one. The first one never had any problems, other than the battery not lasting as long as it got older, which is to be expected. This one has taken some abuse, and it still runs for more than 5 hours. So, I don’t really have any complaints about Shark Shield.
