Hi Guys,

I have the East Bay Parks Angler pass the check this website regularly for fish plants.  https://www.ebparks.org/recreation/fishing/anglers-edge-online

The two kayakers are not wearing lifejackets.  I emailed East Parks about this several weeks ago and nothing has changed. Not wearing a lifejacket is the biggest cause of drowning.

Please email them about this at: [email protected] or [email protected]

Yikes no bueno!

On another note, I’m surprised they’re still stocking trout in June.
Wonder if that’s meant to be catfish.

Yes, its been catfish plants not trout. I called Lake Chabot and they told me they've received 1000 lbs of cats for June.

Did they change the photo recently? I check that page about once a month, and hadn't even noticed the kayakers, let alone that they didn't have PFDs on. Maybe I'm just a little too preoccupied with the report and stocking info, haha.

I don't try to fall in but do. Just ask some of the old timers. My last adventure in the water happened a few weeks ago. I was pedaling out with my buddy at one of our private lakes and my kayak starting listing. It was taking on water real fast and it finally flipped me out and it went over. I had my PFD on and swam the 300 yeard plus back to the launch as my buddy towed my kayak back. Without that PFD I would have drown even if the water was over 75 degrees. We had a good laugh and a beer then I got a spare kayak andd out we went to go catch a lot of post spawning bass.
Whe I inspected the hull I had a huge hole it it, which I patched up and the kayak is good as new.
"bull riding came about when some redneck stated, "hold my beer and watch this!"

Glad you got out alive.
Private lakes rock.
I really dislike dragging the yak without the wheels.

( guessing that was the issue)
Sad that this thread had to be made at all.
