I saw that. It seems insanely cheap. Either it’s the best deal imaginable, or it’s a junk. Probably would not be hard to tell which if seeing it in person.

What do you think is the longevity of a Hobie hull?

I've been tempted recently to replace my TI with a new one because I want to add a bunch of mods (aka drill holes, spend $$) and I'm not sure if it would be worth just buying a new one to start that instead of putting a bunch of time/money into a 9 year old one.  I know I'll get a lot of use out of it in the next 10+ years.

My guess is that it depends mostly on sun exposure. If the color has not faded much, I would not consider upgrading.

I have a 2013 and a 2014, and both have gotten a lot of use and seem none the worse for the wear. I recently bought a 2011 Adventure that I plan to convert to an AI, and the age of it was not a concern—although if it disintegrates, maybe it should have been…

I looked at that one but seems like over time the hulls develop cracks. There’s another one on Craigslist thats being parted out for that reason

I know of a solo thats been stored in a garage for a lot of years i think ~2012 and only been in fresh water a few times no salt exposure

Last I checked they wanted $2k

There were a few early models (circa 2007) that had a tendency to crack around the drive well, but as far as I know, that's not been the case since. I would be interested in any evidence that you can point to that "over time, the hulls develop cracks" in any more recent model years.

A lightly-used AI that has not had a lot of UV exposure would be a bargain at $2k.

It’s sold before I even get a chance to look at it.
