I'll update the story later, but I just wanted to throw some pics up while I had a few free minutes.

Short story - I went to King's Canyon to check out some campsites but never did because there was a giant boulder in the road.
I took some awesome trails and got myself stuck in the snow in the middle of nowhere.
I had fun.

Nice!!

Once the snow melts off give Big Meadows a shot.  It's a ways to drive down into kings canyon but makes a great base station for an extended trip.  The fire lookout tower is close for a side trip.  There is a mild and 4wd trail nearby as well.  Big Meadows creek in the actual meadow as well as down in the canyon is a hoot to fish.  Jenny lake in Jenny lake wilderness is a decent hike that fished well.  While there, hike to the top of mt Mitchell for an absolutely incredible view.

Thanks! Yeah, I can't wait to go back. The whole reason I went was to check out a few campsites on King's River, but I didn't even get to see them because there was a giant boulder in the middle of the road to get to them. There were some forest service volunteers trying to move it and I stayed and tried to help for a little over an hour but we barely even budged the boulder, so I left them with my soft shackles and a tow rope and hit Sycamore Springs.
