In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

From here I decided to check Gaia and see what my options were. I noticed I was right near a chunk of the Trona Backcountry Discovery Trail so I decided to see what that was all about. This section was really fun, with tons of awesome dispersed camping sites. There were long stretches of the trail that were soft sand and it was nice to be able to jam through those sections and just float on the sand. There were lots of Joshua Trees in this area, too. I wish I would've stopped to take pictures, but it was getting late and I still had a 6 hour drive home ahead of me. I did takes lots of video, but I have 102 video clips I need to go through and edit down into a few minutes.  :smt009

Looks like I did 20 miles in an hour and 41 minutes.

When I got off of the trail I noticed I was on Kelso Valley Road which just happened to lead to 178. Perfect!

I took a detour from 178 and hit Kern Canyon Road, which runs parallel to 178 but higher up. It was dope but it was getting late and I only stopped for a few pictures. I ended up getting home at 11:45PM Monday night.  :smt044

It was fun to hang with my dude and do some camping.  Having some issues uploading pics, but have a couple for now just not the ones I wanted to post  :smt005 It was great scenery up there, driving through the snow top peak of 155 and down the other side to lake Isabella and then up into the canyon we camped in, with a camping spot that had amazing views of the snow dusted peaks, giant boulders and scenic mountain tops, on a cliff right next to the river with the fire pit on the ridge.  Just awesome!  Thanks for the fun time D! Do it again when its not 45 and blowing cold as hell all night long  :smt005

Looks like a fun trip.
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Do you expect us to believe a savvy tech guy like you having issues with uploading pictures?  :smt003
