Attached is my 2024 fish spreadsheet.
There were some hits and misses, but it was an overall improvement over 2023 and 2022.
Time On the Water, learning some areas and listening to better anglers - I'm feeling solidly intermediate now, getting better at some things (halibut and trout) and still in the dark on others (crappie, perch, reservoirs with the word "New" in them).

I roughly estimate that I caught between $1,000 and $2,200 worth of keeper fish, depending on assumed price/per pound, etc.
I have not calculated my gas/electric/mileage costs but I'm guessing it exceeds that.

Thank you for your fish county summary.  Very impressive with # of days and # of fish you caught.
Since I am now retired, I hope to do more fishing this year and follow in your footsteps,.

OMG - this brought back memories.  I haven't done fish/days/skunks/tried-for/coulda-had stats in years.

I love the "full moon or close" detail.  Nice work.   :smt001

Great summary! Good seeing you out on the water on 10/5 in Benicia.  Hope to see you out more in 2025!

I am very envious of your number of attempts, and the range of locations you travel to.

I'm pretty much stuck to within an hour or so of Concord - my solo kayak fishing usually needs to fit within my kids school schedule.

That said, the kids love taking our little tinny out to our local reservoirs, and I love teaching them how to fish. Hopefully one of these days they take to the kayaks a little more.

Joe I love the bookkeeping. Is that in excel or something else? I may have to try something like that in 2025.

I was inspired by you last year Joe and kept a journal too. Not nearly as impressive as yours, but it's something. Anything that is marked 'lunch fishing' is about 10 minutes I get to fish during my lunch break at work. Anyone can take a look on my google sheet:

Looking forward to another fishing year!

I love seeing that you guys chronicled your fishing adventures!  I wish I had done the same when I was still actively fishing as much as possible.  Be pretty cool to add your NCKA post links or AOTY entries as well!  Maybe I'll start and see if it inspires me to fish more this year. Thanks for sharing!

It’s in Excel but could probably be done on Google Docs.

When I got my Hobie, I figured I would prioritize fishing and get out 1 or 2 times a month. But a byproduct of getting a German Shorthair Pointer that needs adventure and that my wife doesn’t want to deal with, is that we go out almost every week, or more. I also schedule my work around Windy forecasts, if possible. If I could only fish weekends, I’d miss a lot of good days.
