Doran beach crab and chill 2025

I think I’ll come out for the day. Drop some crab rings and then catch some AOTY perch while waiting.

I have never fished for perch at bodega from my kayak, any advice? Bait vs lures are you fishing just behind the surf?

I've used GULP sand worms, about 1/2 or even just a 1/4 of a worm trolled behind and letting bounce on the bottom.  Parallel the shore just beyond the break.  Probably anything would work with flavor, like maybe raw shrimp chunks?  Take several options and give each a pass to see what they are hitting on.  Be sure to mark your hits as they tend to school in the deeper pockets. 

 I neeed to get back on my Yak and fish! See y'all at Doran the 23-26 on the Cove clover leaf camp area. Whole family and grandchildren.... fun on a grand scale!

Remember to reserve sites for next year before you go this year. Weekend of the 24th 2026. we'll all be there again next year
