I get this is a NorCal group and I used to live in Santa Cruz and Humboldt, where this group was recommended to me. I'm a Spearo and want to use a kayak to access offshore spots, try out fishing, and whale watching.

I think a Revo 13 or Revo/Adventure 16 might be what I want, but as I'm totally new to this I don't really know what will be best for spearfishing. There's several used models available near me, but I also don't know what I'm looking for. Any help would be appreciated.

for spearfishing i think paddle kayaks are better, much cheaper, lighter and easier to move around, more deck space without the pedals. plus my legs are tired after diving. something like a used trident 13

Scupper pro used to be the Tacoma of spearfishing kayaks, unfortunately it has been long discontinued, however you may find one used.
I agree with jremi, you should be looking for a paddle kayak instead of a pedal kayak for diving/spearfishing/

PM Fuzz, best spearo in NCKA history and he dives Oahu off his kayaks, both reef fish and blue water. I remember he was trying to pimp out a Scupper Pro when he moved back out there but not sure what he settled on as his go-to.

as was said, ya can't go wrong with a Trident, either 13 or 15.
I know some guys who are into the Jackson line as well.

Last time I was there he had a lot of kayaks in the yard  :smt007...he was using a Scupper Pro and I paddled his Trident...and since then he has gotten more....incuding hobies etc etc etc
