Russian Gulch 7/4 Weekend 7/4-7/6, 2024

My wife and I plan to camp and fish at Russian Gulch during the Independence Day weekend, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
I hope the weather gets better and we can fish all three days.
Other anglers are welcome, and I will have my radio set on Ch 69.

Not sure.  This place gets crowded during the weekend due to hikers.

Never been there before.  I am going there this Friday/Saturday.   Windy.com show 6 ft@8sec on Saturday morning.  Is that rough for that area?  I can go 5ft@8sec with no problem at hmb.

My wife and I would go out in that condition with our stabilized kayak if the wind were not too strong. I don't think you will like it. Since the cove is very well protected and easy to launch, I would recommend staying in the cove and checking out the open ocean before you decide to head out. Are you going with a kayaker who is familiar with this spot?

No.  I am only there for one night.  I figure I bring the kayak if  swell is okay.

Conditions on Friday are looking better than Saturday at this point. I will keep an eye on it.

I was there on this past Friday/Saturday.  Parking gets full pretty fast. When I was going out in the morning at 6:30am, parking is empty.  It's packed by 10:00am when I got back.

Looks like you will finally have beautiful weather. I would be there but My son and I are heading out to the canyon for halibut on his 22' Mako. Tight lines

Now Saturday has better conditions forecast than Friday. I'm thinking I can overnight it in Ukiah and get there early enough either day. Friday would probably have less traffic.
