Just got an InReach message from Mr. X, and both of his Mirage drives are now out of commission (as if it wasn't already challenging enough).

Not sure how accurate Windy.com is for that location, but it doesn't look like great sailing conditions for him (wind direction wise) until Friday. If he can stay ahead of the sweeper boat until then, looks like he'd be able to cruise to the finish...

Dang, hope he can repair one with the parts from the other.

It's too bad that I cannot send him one of mine.

From the tracking app, it is clear that Mr. X has been struggling without his Mirage drive, and Windy is showing headwinds all day today. Tomorrow still looks favorable, with wind out of the SE, increasing in strength throughout the day.

He's not moving now and has only traveled 13NM in the last 24 hours. He is now the last boat. The grim sweeper boat is supposed to reach Comox at noon today which is very far away from Mr. X so there is still hope that he can reach the finish. I sure hope he can cobble together one working drive.

He's moving again! Winds look favorable for the next few days.

One boat just stopped in Prince Rupert. That might make sense for him as well if they have some hardware there that he can utilize to fix a drive.
I thought that he had until July 5th to finish, which should give him plenty of time. It seems like he should be able to finish by the 1st or 2nd if weather allows.

I wonder if someone area that area has a hobie.  Is it even possible to borrow gear during the race?
