Hey Troy, thanks for getting back to me. I am down in Monterey this weekend, the next two weekends I would like to go out and hunt some halibut, thinking of local, rod and gun launch or China camp and a couple of weeks after that maybe a camp out in Olema and go for crab and halibut in Tomales Bay. Maybe we can try to talk in the next week, Ron.

Thanks for getting this thread going. I have a Jackery 300 which is great for small electronics and easy connection to solar panel. Haven't tested it on charging a FF battery yet, but I need to. Also thinking about getting an electric outboard, so that would be another big electrical draw.

I love the Jackery just for form factor and ease of use, but also intrigued by the more home-brew kind of options (with more power for less money).

Thank you for all the info... I pulled the plug on a GoalZero 500 on the Memorial Day Sale. Now I am wondering if that will be enough.... will keep you posted.

It should at least re-charge your bixpy once and some other electronics.

Rethinking this by priority and cost.
1. Recharge fish finder battery 20 lith
2. Recharge VHF radio
3. Recharge shark shield if in saltwater
4. Recharge Bixpy… I can always peddle or paddle

Maybe for more than one day…. For the cost it may be less expensive to buy an extra fish finder battery and have both charged beforehand. No doubt these battery systems are expensive.

Thinking of getting solar for the camper.   Use a Yamaha 2000i now.   Not bigger than the battery setups.   So can chage camper and everything else.

Is that a 20 ah lithium for the fish finder? How long does it last?

I have a Jackery 500 and love it.  I ran 2 Cpap machines over night on 12 volts and charging 2 cell phones and only used 30%.  I like the 500 because it is not too big or heavy.  I also bought it because their office is a mile from my house.
