NOW is the time to get 'em in Tomales.

I'm totally down for a Tomales shark derby and would help in any way possible.

Plus, the boat-in camping in Tomales is off the hook if anybody wanted to do that.

Nice leopard. Are they good eating or did you release him? I am up for a shark derby as long as you can drift fish them. Don't like to drop anchor in bays.

Scott, I released it.  I tried eating one sometime ago.  I wasn't impressed.

Drift fishing for shark works well, but most guys, including myself, prefer to be lazy and drop anchor.

You guys lucked out on the conditions, if that pic is an acurate indicator!  I got out there Sun. afternoon for the end of the incoming and it was BUMPY.  Trolled around for almost three hours for nothin'.  My rod loaded up once, but didn't stick.

Scott - Lepos are difinitly good to eat if you make sure to bleed them good as soon as possible - like right after you land them. We used to target them in Elk Horn Slough at Moss Landing, but they are evrywhere! I had one nail a trolled jig here in Richardson Bay the other day - a nice 3 footer - put up a great fight! When you bleed them, cut the gills and make a deep cut around the base of the tail. That's how we used to do it and it tasted great. Tom
