Heard some good reports of some big Salmon being caught close to shore north of Bodega. So I baled on Fort Ross and gave it a try. Perfect day on the blue ankle slappers on the beach all day no wind no fog but it was way too hot for a wet suit :anger. Trolled, trooched for 5 hours 1 drive-by. The salmon were there just not bitting saw 2 10 lb or so caught but 0 for me fishing 40' of water saw big salmon jumping all over the place but few hook ups. Hit a rock for some dinner got a couple underlings and lost a nice hitch hiker got a few rockies for tacos.  Saw a big school of dolphins attacking a school of bait, bait and dolphins flying out of the water incredable. It was great just being on the water.

Great report Mike,  Salmon would have been good, but the rockfish consolation prize, is not bad either.

Great pablo, I'm just slumming with the rockfish for a bit here. A real salmon would be cool tho.
maybe there's still some time?

Nice try Mike.  Sounds like a great day on the ocean, wish I could have joined you.

Jim "InSeine" is not going to like hearing that salmon where being caught out shallow in front of his house while we was off camping at Salt Point.

My wife would love for me to do a little rfish slumming(preferably in landlord territory) so I might have to one of these days

there's a big salmon out there with a neon sign on its side flashing "jmairey come get me!"  :smt007

have to put away the rockfish jigs for a day though

although I did see a guy get one on a hex bar at LM once
