Been kayak fishing since i was old enough to borrow one and use it myself. Bought my first wilderness systems pungo 120 used almost 10 years ago and i have fished that thing in many many waters! Modified it with all the add ons, down rigger, fish finder, pole holders, even mounted a trolling motor onto it! From that i upgraded to a used tarpon 100. I modified it with all the same add ons except i routed custom foot pedal cable steering for a different trolling motor setup that works quite awesome!

I have always preferred to ride on budget rigs. They all float, right? Just maybe not quite as stable or big of a payload and i cannot stand up and such. It is also just a kayak after all.. The way i like to set mine up becomes comparable to some multi thousand dollar rigs though, the fishability that is. I have nothing against the utility of a high quality setup and i know i would absolutely enjoy one, but i would just be the guy to spend $2k-$4k on a decent little motor boat instead, again thats just my own opinion.

Excited to see what info i can learn from this site and the people to possibly meet and fish with! Like i said i have kayak fished all sorts of waters big and small from Pyramid Lake, Tahoe, Almanor, Stampede, Pardee, Ice House and its neighboring tributaries, Folsom, Tomales, San Fran, Puget Sound, Coeur d'Alene, and many more to list and a handful of different rivers as well. Lately my main focus has been venturing out into open ocean water from our beautiful coast here in California! That has become an addiction that is too fun to indulge in!!! It all started with salmon as the focus but clearly i had to switch to targeting rockfish and halibut and such.

I have also owned a few different motor boats, glass and aluminum. Arima being my favorite that i have owned and i am currently in the hopes of finishing some major fiberglass repair on my second Arima. Appreciate you reading and keep those lines tight!!
Ahoy skippers!
