doesn't look that bad, bottom may be blistered
 23'?

Is that big enough for bluewater sailing? If so, maybe I'll "buy" it, restore it, and then follow Mr. X when he decides to sail his TI around the world...
I'm no expert, but have been trying to research this.  What you want for blue water is a heavy keel, most seem to be full lenght keels with 50% ballast vs displacement.  Sam Holmes sailed to Hawaii from CA in a Ranger 23 sailboat.  Bit small for the ocean to me, but I've been day dreaming about a 30/33ft like a Catalina 30.

Actually, I’ve watched that YouTube video and dozens of others of people sailing solo across oceans. It’s a tempting way to spend retirement, but getting a boat without becoming a victim of mariticide is a big stumbling block…

I'm looking for a free vintage cabin cruiser type boat. No engines perfectly OK.  Gonna use it as an ADU on my North 40. I Like the Stephens Brothers wood boats, out of Stockton.

There were only like 1200 ever made and the later ones were aluminum at that. There was one out on Venice or Medford Island for many years, not sure if still there.

At $1000 this is a pretty dang good deal.  Still, has a lot of work to be done: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/boa/d/santa-rosa-jeanneau-sail-yacht-project/7692249800.html
