My wife has decided that we don't need three kayaks and thinks we should sell her OK Venus including the basic OK paddle and backrest we got it with.

It's "sky" colored about 10 ft long, weighs only 35 lbs and was designed for women (what ever that means).  It's not much of a fishing vessel, but if the woman in your life is just interested in joining you for a paddle in the local pond, lake or river this might be a good choice.

Here's the link to the Venus on the OK site.
http://www.oceankayak.com/kayaks/single_kayaks/venus_10.html

The MRSP is $569, but this used (but in very good condition) kayak can be yours for $250.

I'll try and post some pictures soon.

The VEnus is a cool little boat.  Fat and relatively satble.

Lighter paddlers, though.

I might be interested in this kayak.  Wife and I were just discussing getting one so she can join me once in a while. It might be perfect for her since she barely weighs 100 lbs. I would like to see some pictures if you wouldn't mind posting them.

Here are some photos of the kayak from various angles including one of my wife easily carrying it.

Damn, now I have that song stuck in my head.  Might as well share it so you too can be humming it all day ...

Goddess on the mountain top
Burning like a silver flame
The summit of beauty and love
And Venus was her name

She's got it
Yeah, baby, she's got it
I'm your Venus, I'm your fire
At your desire
Well, I'm your Venus, I'm your fire
At your desire

Would you be able to bring it to BAM? (if you are going)  I have been thinking of going to BAM III since I talked to Dan @ Del Valle this weekend.  This would be a good excuse to go. I am not 100% about transporting 2 yaks on my FJ cruiser.  I know it is possible, but I only have the gear for transporting 1 right now.

I am definitely interested in this kayak though.  I will make up my mind today or tomorrow if I am going to BAM.

No problem.  I am sure there will be more deals out there.

Ben your wife is more than welcome to use it up at Mendo. Does she need a PFD ? I can bring an extra.

If I do go to Mendo, I will be going alone.  My wife has to work until late Sat. evening.  Thanks for the offer, though.

Ben put that thought out of your head and just do it the people, campsite and food are World Class oh  yeah the fishing is pretty good too. The White Family are Very Gracious Hosts and will do anything to make sure you have a Great Time. You will see all the gear that you dream about and get to test drive almost any Kayak out there. The Radio chatter is too funny and you will be laughing all day. The only Bummer about BAM is you have to wait a whole year for it to happen again.

I will probably go.  Dan told me the same thing: the people are great.  I was only concerned about emptying the WAF account since I will be going to Del Valle the next weekend.  Wife didn't seem to object last night, so I guess I will be at BAM!
