Capt. Matt and I launched out of the South boat ramp at about 10 a.m.  We trolled flies to the dam; no top water action, and marked only one fish in deep water.  We made a couple passes and then headed north, saw a cool, huge eagle.  Crossed over to the north bank and saw another yak sitting off a rocky point.  He was landing a striper as we paddled by.  We tried to give him a wide birth as we went by cuz he didn't look like he wanted company.  We continued our liesurely paddle towards the North ramp.  Capt Matt said hey Joe lets go to shore and stretch our legs and take a 10-100; I said sure.  We started towards shore, and BAM (get it?), there's a nice little boil right in front of us.  We sprint and then glide into the middle of the action.  I snatch my rod off the holder, and strip once, strip twice, and BENDO!!!  I get a nice sleigh ride, a couple aerials, and land a nice fish.  C&R and from there we trolled around the lake.  Matt had a nice fish on the troll but it came off.  Trolled all the way back to the dam, but didn't find anymore topwater action.

Hey Joe

Hey nice linesider.  :smt003 thanks for the report and BAM intel. Kind of nice that we don't paranoid before a tournament but that's just the way we roll. This NCKA group is amazing. Sounds like you were fly fishing? See you at BAM.

A great day on the lake with Lost Coast Joe. He has Mendo dialed with the fly rod!!! Joe forgot to mention that he rolled his own fly which makes the hook up just a bit more rewarding. Thanks for driving Joe, see you at the salt mine. If you look close the eagle is in the oak tree.

Nice report and great pics. :smt007 Sounds like such a nice and relaxing day on the lake. I swear I could feel that there weren't any PB'rs on the lake. :smt005
BTW was this another victim to the white deceiver?

Cool.  I hadn't seen any eagles yet this year.  Glad to know they are back.

Think "#1" and "#2" and you'll be on the right track (I think!).   :smt005

Nice. Way to stick to your FF guns.

I have no faith in my ability to catch stripers with artificials and am going to BAMIII more for the party than the derby.  :smt009
