The trout and kokanee lakes are about 1.5 to 2 hours away in the Sierra foothills. I have a lake where I'm C-n-Ring 20-30 fish a day. I'll probably go Saturday the 9th. If you need info on tackle and rigging, let me know.

20-30 fish a day sounds amazing. Which lakes are you hitting up in the Sierra foothills? I'd love to meet up, but unfortunately not this weekend due to out-of-town guests. My son and I are motivated, so for future weekends keep us in the loop!

Welcome, RfR. Those are great first kayaks!

Thanks! Loving them so far. They were sold as a pair from a local on craigslist. I've had to learn how to tune-up the rudder, but so far so good.

If you ever need any help with fine-tuning your Hobie, post something in the Hobie sub-forum. A lot of Hobie owners here--I've had a few, and currently pilot an AI.

Thanks! I'll definitely find my way there. So much good people and information here, not enough time!

Scotty

Thanks Scotty, unlike other hobbies I've introduced him to, this one we're both just learning together. It's been fun and humbling!
