Here's a few pics from 16N30.

Here's the other side of the rock from the first two pics above and a better look at Clear Lake.

Lake Pilsbury in the background.

I didn't make it all the way to the top of Hull Mountain because there were a bunch of idiots up there shooting across the road.
When I was taking these pics you could hear shotgun pellets raining down near us.

On the way back to Pilsbury I hit the Powder House ORV trail. It started off decent but got a little sketch about a quarter of the way down. I probably shouldn't have been on it by myself, but it ended up being super fun.

This looks like it would be a fun adventure.  I might have to check it out.  Thanks for sharing.

I'm probably going to camp somewhere up there the weekend of the 24th.

Nice, I will have to do that route sometime - it's been on my mind for a while. Some mountain birds up there I need for my Mendocino County list. Have to figure out how to overnight up there or it's a super long day from the coast.

Deer Valley and Penny Pines were both pretty nice campgrounds. The sites are kinda close, though. Not sure how crowded it gets. We were there on a Sunday and there wasn't anyone at either campground. $6 per night, first come-first serve. I didn't have a chance to check out Middle Creek CG.

The campgrounds at Pilsbury are OK, but the sites are close together and I saw a ground squirrel harassing a rattlesnake in one of the sites at Pogie Point CG.

There's also tons of spots where you can just pull over and camp for free. I marked 5 dispersed sites that were pretty nice along the route I took.
