Going to hit a good chunk of the MBCDT this Saturday Sunday if anyone wants to join. Taking it from Upper Lake to Lake Pilsbury, then hitting Hull Mountain, then probably backtracking to Pilsbury and exiting back to hiway 20 via Elk mountain rd.

Elk Mountain Road is still gated at Middle Creek, no?

Not sure!

If it is I have other tracks I can hit in the area.   :smt001

I forgot to update this post.

I woke up that morning to a flat tire. I switched out to my full sized spare and battled with myself on whether or not I should just hit the trails as is, or go and get my tire fixed. I ultimately decided to not risk being the jack-ass on the trail with a flat and no spare, so I decided to have my tire fixed. By the time I got my tire fixed and made it to Upper Lake it was already past noon so I didn't make it very far. The dark blue track in the pic below is from that day. My wife and I made it up near Deer Valley Campground and stopped for lunch then turned around and followed the same route back.

Take 2.

Heading back to conquer the MBCDT this Sunday if anyone wants to join.
Taking the route below.
Starting at Upper Lake, passing Lake Pilsbury, and trying to get as close to Hull Mountain as the last little bit of snow will let me.

Lol. Nope.
These trips are usually 8 or 9 hours with like an hour or so overall stopped time. That’s taking pictures or stopping to have a beer and something to eat.
No time to fish.

You should have no problems getting up on top of Hull Mountain. The backside has a little snow still, front side is clear.

That should be fine. Just air down to ~20 psi if you're nervous. Better grip and puncture resistance.

Had a blast on Sunday playing in the woods. Most of the forest roads are in the process of being graded (not sure if that's the word. Groomed?) and 16N30/16N01 was in way better shape this time than when I went two weeks ago. I prefer the trails a little chewed up, but there's no excuses for not getting out there now. An AWD with street tires wouldn't have much issues making it all the way up to Hull Mountain.
