Car camping near SF?

There's a rest area off 280N at Crystal Reservoir -- overnight parking/sleeping is allowed for up to 8 hours. It's just north of the 92 turnoff to HMB.

Lake merced and great highway always has overnight car campers, you'd fit right in

Yes, I’ve seen these areas mentioned a few times…

A real nice place is Olema out in point Reyes, not in San Fran, but a beautiful place for nature and fishing/crabbing. Ron.

Tempting, but kinda far.

Maybe I should try Bolinas, as I hear they are so welcoming of people from out of town...
